8/12/23 Neck Pain

Today I woke up with severe pain in my neck and reduced mobility. First thing I did was apply my biofreeze and began stretching and massaging my neck/shoulder. I also applied trigger points because that helps reduce the tension. I feel as though I am rushing to do this because I do not want to get a nauseating headache later, better get rid of the tension now. During all of this, I also sprained my foot 2 weeks ago. My body hurts from walking abnormally for so long now. I begin to do some stretches, listening to my body to see what feels good, listening to what it needs. Those with fibromyalgia tend to have weaker joints, bones, muscles, etc. Our cartilage is not as strong as normal folk. This is why it is so important to continue to do corrective exercises to strengthen the areas that need stabilization. To prevent these kinds of injuries. Consistency and creating habits is key. Even I fall off track and need a little reminder to do the things that help my body. No one can do it for you, so it is up to you to feel good. I often need to tell myself this, because taking care of my body becomes a task. When in reality it is a gift that I can take care of myself without needing medication. It is a gift that I am able to thrive despite all of the challenges.
